COVID Policy and Procedures for in-person classes:
We are delighted to reopen our doors and welcome in our young actors. We want you to know that the health and safety of our patrons is foremost in our minds.

We are complying with the directives as part of the Responsible Restart Ohio Guidelines:
  • We are asking that all persons that enter into our facility conduct daily health symptom assessments. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must stay home.  Rubber City Theatre (RCT) will offer an on-line live streaming option for students required to quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19.
  • RCT will require students and staff to maintain a minimum of 6 feet between individuals when not rehearsing/performing. When rehearsing/ performing, we will maintain physical distance to the extent possible.
  • RCT will  minimize cross-team contact between actors, stage managers, directing staff, music team, choreography team, creative team, and production staff.
  • RCT requires that there is no congregating before or after practices/rehearsals/ performances/classes.
  • RCT will Clean and disinfect frequently touched equipment, props, etc., between rehearsals and performances.
  • Children and staff are required to wash their hands when they enter and exit the facility.  We also promote good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. Flyers and signs are posted throughout our facility.
  • All patrons, employees and students must wear face coverings at all times.
  • It is recommended that individuals traveling to Ohio from a state on Ohio’s travel advisory list (https:// coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/ families-and-individuals/COVID-19-Travel-Advisory/ COVID-19-Travel-Advisory) self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival before participating in rehearsals/ performances.

Additional COVID protocols for RCT:
  • We ask that parents and guardians remain outside to reduce contact in our facility.
  • RCT will  conduct a deep sanitation of the theatre, bathrooms, and all high touched services in between every class. Any objects used in class will be sanitized immediately.
  • There will be hand sanitizing stations located throughout the building to help reinforce healthy hygiene habits.
  • Students are asked to arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to class and are asked to maintain social distancing when arriving for their daily health screening.
  • All parents and students will be alerted immediately regarding possible exposure to COVID-19  as directed by the Summit County Public Health department.
  • Class sizes will be limited to maintain social distancing practices.
FAQ’s
1. What do I do if my child is sick and is going to miss class?
We require that you keep your child home when they are sick or quarantined.  We will offer a live synchronous zoom option available for RCT students. Just let us know by emailing us at sarah@rubbercitytheatre.com and we will send you the link!

2. Will there be a live performance at the end of the class session?
We feel that performance is an integral part of our program and that the “show must go on!”  We will offer our performances through either a hybrid of an in-person performance/lived streamed show  or an outdoor performance option.  We will determine this based on state recommendations.

3. Is there an on-line only option for classes?
Not at this time.  The online option will only be available when the children are unable to attend their live class due to COVID-19 exposure/quarantine.

4. Have you reduced your capacity in classes?
Yes. In order to maintain social distancing, our classes are limited to 15 children per class. We have also reimagined our classroom spaces to accommodate proper distancing.

5. Do you offer scholarships for your students?
We provide a Pay-What-You-Can Option for our students. We believe cost should not be a barrier for any student who wants to take theatre classes. Therefore, we allow families to Pay-What-You-Can (This can be $0, $10, $50, etc).
