Why the change of season selection?
Rubber City, like many other theatres, has experienced a decline in audience attendance and donation support. Our ambitious 10th anniversary season pushed the limits of what we were able to do and we accomplished many of our goals in the productions this season. Conversations between staff members (administrative and production) along with financial considerations, we have decided to move our season to align with our fiscal year (July-June) and looking at producing 4 mainstage productions with 2-3 youth productions and assisting with the University Theatre productions. Rubber City Theatre is part a national trend in regional theatre that has seen theatres small to large lay off staff, cancel productions, and some who even have closed their doors.
will hamlet or hyde by presented at a later date?
At this time, Hyde will not be presented at RCT. We look forward to seeing the work presented in the future. Hamlet may find its way back into a future season however, the University Theatre will present The Little Theatre's Production of 'Hamlet' as a nod to RCT's previously announced production.
I have a subscription for those shows - what happens to those tickets?
Subscriber's will receive an email from Dane CT Leasure about their tickets. They will be exchanged for our spring play and early summer musical.
